This site is the internet home of Chris Drackett. The idea here is to create a place online where I can publish more information about myself than anyone would ever want to know. But—then again—thats the spirit of the internet, right?

I am a interface and web designer currently freelancing and working on insanely secret projects. I aspire to have a company website someday where I can display my work. However, this would require free time, and me coming up with a good name for my company (I currently work under the esteemed title of Chris Drackett.)

This site is was built on a crazy template system within Movable Type. However, it aspires to be is now built on Django. Sometime in the next year I plan to port this site over to Django, therefore fulfilling its dreams. This dream has been fulfilled, now the sites only dream is more sections and a colophon without all the strike-throughs. I would start the move right now but because the movable type version of this site was never done or live, I would be throwing out 4 years of work that never saw the light of day, and thats just sad.Nevermind, it was easer to just build the whole thing in Django.

Just because I’ll be moving someday moved to something a little more powerful (and something that gives me, as a designer/developer mix, less headaches) in Django doesn’t mean I don’t love Movable Type. I think it’s a great platform for designers to learn on. I have (or will have) a series of posts in my notebook written on how to get the most out of movable type, the custom plug-ins I’ve made and more. They can be found here: entries on movable type.

This site is currently running on a wonderful Joyent server, and aspires for nothing better.
